This is our son AJ, he is 12 and he has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne is a progressive muscle degenerative disease that impacts 1 in every 3,500 boys. It starts by limiting their ability to play and run in the early stages, to losing the ability to walk by their early teens, and then ultimately taking their life in their early 20s.
He loves sports and over the past few years it has become more difficult for him to play the sports he enjoys. A year ago AJ was introduced to the sport of power soccer and he fell in love with the sport. At first it was just for fun but his team the “Los Angeles Avengers” are getting better and he recently was asked to be on the club team. AJ strives to be the best player he can be and in order to do that, he is trying to raise money for a Strike Force power soccer wheelchair.
Having a power soccer wheelchair will help him keep up with the other players and allow him to improve his abilities on the court. Any help we could get to make this become a reality would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
