AJ’s Medical Relief Fund

On Saturday, June 10th, AJ Ferguson (#2) was preparing for a regular weekly night of racing at Tazewell Speedway. Qualifying 14th, he started the race strong. However, on lap 7, AJ and another car got into one another causing the #2 car to flip and spin down the back stretch coming to a rest on the roof. Thanks to the Rescue Squad, several other drivers and crew members, after a 15-20 minute battle, AJ was removed from the car and taken to Claiborne County ER. Once they completed several test and assessments, they determined it best to fly AJ to UT.

Sunday afternoon AJ had surgery to repair his broken clavicle. He has battled a severe pulmonary contusion which doctors are worried may cause a collapsed lung. This is required him to be on oxygen since Saturday. His T7, T8, and T12 vertebrae are broken and he will require surgery on Thursday to put some rods and screws in place.

All donations will go toward helping AJ pay for his medical bills and any other expenses his family will have while he is out of work. At this time we are not sure how long his recovery time will be.

If you cannot donate then please just pray! My husband (Jody Horton) not only races with AJ but also works right beside him and rides to work with him everyday. My 5 year old son thinks the world of AJ and did not want to leave the hospital until he saw him Sunday. We had to promise him we would bring him back to see his buddy! My daughter is friends with AJ’s stepdaughter. This family means so much to my family! Any help, monetary or prayers, will be greatly appreciated!
