AJs Fight Against Ewing’s Sarcoma

On July 2, 2018 I took my son on an emergency appointment to see an Orthopedic surgeon, because my son has been dealing with severe pain in his knee area  since Feb 2018. Night before i took him to Nemours he was in pain to the point he could not take it telling me he wishes he could cut his leg off (now that's all i needed to hear to say this is no ordinary growing pains)  Rewind to Feb, took him to his primary Dr and was told its typical growing pains give him advil for inflammation and he should be good. Took him back and they wrote up a referral to get an MRI done on his knee because hes now limping and his pain continues in his knee where his pain is and same as today his pain remains in his knee (MRI came out normal). Then he was in pain again in April 2018 took him to ER Florida Hospital again knee pain and they took x-ray of only the knee and was told normal knee they couldn't understand why he was in sooo  much pain, sent me off again with bio freeze prescription and continue tylenol and advil. In between all this time he would tell me he had pain we would give him advil or tylenol it would go away and he would be fine. Fast forward to June and July that's when the pain was getting worse decided to get the referral from his primary Dr to seek out the Ortho Dr, mind you the appt I had set up for AJ was for July 16.. Thank God I didn't wait that long for that appt. So on July 2nd is when the Dr and his radiologist at Nemours orthopedic clinic decided to take an x-ray of his knee and hips, the Dr took a look at it and said i don't see anything wrong and don't understand the pain but there is weakness in his right leg. Dr sent me off with going to a pain management specialist and physical therapy. As I'm pulling into a Chik fil A with the kiddos I get a call from the Dr's office and its Dr. Stinson asking me to turn around because there is something on his femur bone and they needed to take further x-ray on both femur bones. Talk about my heart sank to my stomach and I said Lord whatever it is you are in control. We go back in they take the x-rays and he pulls up the pics and he was like left femur bone normal and the right femur bone is showing some sort of growth? Im like what growth??? Dr Stinson gave me three things it could be 1. bone growing on bone 2. diseased bone 3. rare bone cancer known as Ewings Sarcoma . Of course after hearing that your baby boy might have cancer was the most devastating news any mom could hear, seeing my daughter in tears and AJ's face just had fear, and I was like whatever this is we are going to fight to  get you better!! Got in warrior protective mommy mode real fast even though I have had my crying moments I have to still remain strong for my kids. After all ct , mri, bone, pet scans, 2 biopsys  and bone marrow tests all came out clear(meaning the cells did not spread) THANK YOU JESUS, however the as of 07/25/2018 the cells in his femur bone determine he has the rare bone cancer named Ewings Sarcoma (tumor on femur bone).  Great news is Ewing's is treatable AJ will heal from this but it will be a long journey for him treatments of chemo and a major surgery later down the road. 07/31 he started  his first round of chemo and there will be alot more chemo for the next 12 weeks.  As we embark on this "New Normal" journey we are asking for prayers,  love and support from all our family and friends who knows AJ (hes my quiet one) but funny, caring, giving and loving. We wanted to share our story and to one day be able to testify and touch others on how good God is no matter what problems we have  we will remain a strong unit and trust in HIM.
