Help the Johnson Family
Donation protected
In 2021 Thain Johnson was unexpectedly diagnosed with epilepsy after having a series of seizures that progressed in both frequency and severity.
Thain is by nature a hard working, active and vibrant person. His sense of adventure and love of the outdoors endeared everyone he met to him. But his seizures have brought much of that to a halt. Thain loves to work with his hands, building and welding, working with equipment whenever he can. His seizures no longer allow him to do these things.
Since the time of diagnosis, the Johnson family has navigated this new lifestyle while simultaneously seeing multiple neurologists, going through multiple treatment plans, and tests, medications, diet and lifestyle changes. All, so far, have proved to be of little help.
This has been an ongoing health struggle and Thain’s seizures have yet to be what anyone would consider “controlled”. This has caused Thain, and those who love him, significant grief. It has become a cycle that has left him and those who love him feeling very hopeless, and helpless.
But, there is a reason to hope.
Fortunately, Thain has finally been referred to the Mayo Clinic.
The Johnson family will be going at the end of this month for at least 5 days seeking answers and a new treatment plan for Thain.
We are hopeful but also aware of the costs that come with this kind of medical condition. Please consider helping in whatever way you can.
