Mick was diagnosed with stage 4 colon and liver cancer in June of 2018. After enduring nine months of chemotherapy, he underwent two surgeries in the past week to remove the tumors.
Doctors say that Mick will face up to six months of recovery, which will include more chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Mick is a self-employed carpenter who will be unable to work for most of his recovery. He and his wife Kate live in Hampton Bays with their youngest child, Aoife, who is a fourth grader in Hampton Bays Elementary School.
As Mick is facing a long lay off from work, this page is a chance for friends and community members to help with living expenses and the occasional cost of child care, allowing Mick and Kate to focus on his treatment and recovery.
