AJ's Seizure Alert Dog Fund

AJ was critically injured when he accidentally fell down the stairs June 26th, 2012. Since his accident he has aquired many medical conditions. Severe Traumatic Brain Injury, Hydrocephalus, Cerebral Palsy, Cortical Vision Imparement, and Severe Uncontrolled Epilepsy. AJ can have upwards of 10 seizures a day that can last up to 15 min or longer. With the ever-increasing spasticity from his cerebral palsy, it can sometimes be difficult to tell when he is seizing. The purpose of this fundraiser is to get AJ a seizure alert dog.

How the Seizure Alert Dog will benefit AJ & our family:
Not only will the dog provide companionship for AJ, but he/she will be a valuable tool we will use to keep AJ safe. The dog will be trained to detect a chemical odor present in AJ's body & be able to alert us to a seizure before it happens.  It's impossible to have eyes on AJ all the time. I'm constantly worried about not noticing that AJ is seizing. A seizure alert dog would give our whole family the peace of mind we desperately need.
