Hi, My name is Jill and I am fundraising for my friend Alice.

Anyone who knows Alice has experienced the intimate and authentic way she shows up in the world - her wholeheartedness in her love for her family and friends is always present. She is a Mom, a sister, an Aunt and a friend with the most infectious smile and huge heart.

We received the news that Alice was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer with disbelief and sadness, which has also metastasized to her left lung.

Although Alice is intensely independent and self-reliant, we are asking for your financial help to assist her as she walks through the most challenging chapter of her life. Alice has been living off her savings account for the past 6 months, and it is depleting quickly.

Alice is focused forward and feeling FIERCE!! Ready for a FIGHT!! Chemo has begun and is now being taken orally 7 days a week until May 13th. At the same time, radiation occurs 5 days a week (M-F) as it targets the colon area to shrink the tumor, followed by a chemo IV once every two weeks for at least a year, possibly longer depending on her response to the treatment. Alice will experience the side effects of the treatment; more weight loss, hair loss, atrophy, etc., as the treatments proceed. But, she’s not worried about losing her “locks,” and she’s ready to live her life to the fullest once she kicks cancer’s ass.

Along with medical care & transportation expenses comes involuntary downtime from work. This will place extra strain and burden on Alice. Our goal is to fund her to be well resourced to continue healing in body, mind and spirit, not rushing to take on more than she can handle before she’s ready.

Here is where WE come in! As her tribe, we can provide care even if we cannot bring nourishing food or accompany her to healing therapies. We can help ease the way forward into the next chapter of her journey by contributing to this fundraiser, sharing it with our communities and meeting our goal with love and dedication to this remarkable woman.
