AJ's Farm Devastated by Derecho

It was all over the national news - on August 10, 2020, a "derecho" - a line of intense, widespread and fast-moving windstorms - hit a large portion of the American midwest. Among those areas hit the hardest was rural Iowa. Unfortunately, our friend AJ Palmgren's farm was right in the middle of this freak weather event.
AJ's farm received devastating damage in the few minutes that this derecho passed over his property. His garage - gone, lifted right off the foundation. His 120 year old barn - completely decimated, with pieces of it strewn hundreds of yards and his car parked inside, crushed by a barn beam. A third building - destroyed. The three houses on his property, to include the one he lives in - all received serious roof damage. A camper - rolled end over end, landing sixty feet from where it was. Dozens and dozens of trees, just....gone. Not to mention the staggering amount of debris littering every square foot of his property.
Mere minutes before the derecho hit, AJ was in that barn that is no more. Thankfully, he raced back to his house and within minutes, his house shook with the power of the wind and the debris from his destroyed buildings hitting the side. Fortunately, he was not injured, but the scale of the damage and the amount of clean up has left AJ - as it would any of us - completely overwhelmed. Finding help is difficult, too. Since a derecho impacts such a wide area, all of his neighbors, and the whole town, really, were affected in similar ways.
Many of us have known AJ for many years - even decades. He has helped out countless numbers of people - perhaps even you. If you are able, let's show him our appreciation for his years of friendship and donate to help get him back on his feet.
