AJ McDonald Legacy Fund

We wish to sincerely thank everyone for their support over the past two weeks as we've navigated AJ's passing following a tragic ski accident in Winter Park, Colorado. AJ was, quite simply, a beautiful soul. He was fun, funny, and genuinely kind. He consistently showed up for people—in both big ways and small. The stories shared about AJ have been a lifeline for us during this early stage of grief. One story from a classmate at Mill Valley particularly captured his essence: “Many people in high school made me feel small, but AJ always made me laugh and feel comfortable being myself.”

Many have already generously donated to the AJ McDonald Legacy Fund, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and support as we've worked to establish this memorial—there is still work to be done.

To accommodate those wishing to donate online immediately, we've established a GoFundMe page. Contributions made there will directly support the permanent fund we've created. Our vision is to establish scholarship opportunities in AJ’s honor, recognizing and celebrating acts of kindness, connection, and efforts that make our world a gentler, kinder place. We anticipate the fund may evolve, but initially, our primary focus will be these scholarships.
