Help AJ keep that finish line in sight!

Just about two weeks ago, my brother AJ was admitted to Wills Eye Hospital after experiencing an unexplained pain behind his left eye. He was suddenly unable to see from this eye and after numerous tests, it was determined that he had Optical Neuritis, a condition sometimes associated with MS. He spent 6 days in the hospital, undergoing tests and high-dose IV steroids. This helped reduce the inflammation to the optic nerve, however his sight has not returned.
AJ will now need to undergo 2 more months of steroid treatment, along with 3 weeks of plasma therapy (3 times a week at Jefferson University), as well as additional testing to help with identifying or ruling out MS and other autoimmune disorders.
His prognosis at this point presents some obvious challenges, as it is not guaranteed that any vision will return. If any sight is to return, it won't be noticeable for approximately 6 weeks, and maximum sight could take up to 1 year.
AJ is a single father one a 9 year-old boy named Julian and a dog dad to Milo! Many of these therapies are not covered by insurance, and has created what feels like an insurmountable financial strain, on top of the stresses of losing vision for no apparent reason in one eye! He is employed in a 100% commission-based capacity, so this brings on a rather sizeable challenge.
We've set a goal of $8,000 to help AJ cover his housing, child support, and medical bills for the next few months, until he can return to work. Lets help him keep that finish line in sight and get through this tough time!
