Aiya's Transition Journey
Donation protected
UPDATE: Aiya's Facial Surgery has been scheduled to happen in less than 6 MONTHS! But to get it done, she has to get her facial hair removed via Electrolysis. She will have to spend between $500 - $600 a month for pain medication that isn't covered by insurance. If we could raise $5000, she will be able to afford Electrolysis in time for her facial surgery. If you could donate or share to your socials, co-workers, family, friends, etc., that would be incredibly appreciated.
My friend Aiya is an incredibly supportive and kind person. They've been working their butt off to get back on her feet and continue their gender transition and affirmation. I hesitate to write this but Aiya herself gave me her blessing so here it goes. They’ve had an extremely difficult life, growing up in an emotionally, physically, and sexually abusive household for over 25 years of their life. She left just a few years ago and when she started to feel free and loved, she got stage IV lymphoma in her lungs. She had to go through months of intense chemotherapy and a lifesaving surgery, all the while working on an intense job that required her to be on call for over 10 hours per day. They persevered as they always have and beat cancer. During all of this, they had been struggling to find and flesh out their gender identity. Whenever I am going through a hard time, they always carve out time to help, offer support, and love me when I've needed it. I would have never made it to today without them.
Now Aiya is faced with a new struggle: paying for & recovering from FFS and Sex Reassignment surgery. It would cost them around $25000 total, which is impossible with their current unemployment.
Life has been too hard on them. I don’t want them to worry, struggle, or sacrifice just to be who they are. If you could donate even $1, that would be amazingly helpful. And if you can't, please share to your socials, your co-workers, your family, etc. Any little bit helps!
