Mi chiamo Regina è faccio parte di un piccolo gruppo di persone che si prende cura di Strong.

Strong è un dolcissimo cagnolino che è stato abbandonato da cucciolo nella via.

Questo piccolo gruppo di persone amorevoli si è preso cura di lui, costruendogli una casetta dove ha potuto vivere protetto dalla pioggia e dal freddo,

Sono passati anni. Strong è ormai anziano e già aveva una zampa posteriore sinistra malandata, probabilmente a causa di un vecchio incidente. Ma adesso la situazione è diventata critica: da qualche giorno non riesce più ad appoggiare nemmeno la zampa anteriore destra.

È stato trattato con antinfiammatori, ma non ha mostrato miglioramenti. La clinica veterinaria sospetta una frattura o una lussazione del gomito, con possibile rottura di legamenti o tendini.

Per capirlo con certezza, dovrà essere:

• Sedato, perché è di taglia grande, sente dolore e non è abituato al contatto

• Sottoposto a radiografie e a esami specialistici

• E, molto probabilmente, avrà bisogno di una chirurgia ortopedica costosa

Se non interveniamo subito, Strong rischia di non poter più camminare. Due zampe compromesse, una vecchiaia già difficile... e nessuna famiglia che lo voglia adottare perché è anziano.

Ma non vogliamo arrenderci.

Obiettivo della raccolta:

• Sedazione e visita specialistica

• Radiografie

• Esami per rottura di tendini o legamenti

• Chirurgia ortopedica (se necessaria)

• Cure post-operatorie

Help Strong, the stray dog with two injured legs

Strong is a sweet little dog who was cruelly abandoned as a puppy, left all alone on the street. Since then, a small group of caring people has looked after him, even building him a little shelter to protect him from cold and rain.

Years have passed. Strong is now an elderly dog, and he already had trouble with his left back leg, likely due to an old accident. But now, the situation has become critical: he can no longer put weight on his front right leg either.

He was given anti-inflammatory medication, but there has been no improvement. The veterinary clinic suspects a fracture or elbow dislocation, and possibly even a tendon or ligament rupture. To diagnose and treat him, we urgently need to:

• Sedate him (he's large, in pain, and not used to handling)

• Perform X-rays and advance

• diagnostic tests

• Most likely, proceed with orthopedic surgery

If we don’t act now, Strong may never walk again. Two compromised legs, a tough life on the street, and still no family to adopt him simply because he is old.

But we refuse to give up on him.

Our fundraising goal includes:

• Sedation and specialist consultation

• X-rays and additional exams

• Diagnosis of possible ligament or tendon rupture

• Orthopedic surgery (if necessary)

• Post-operative care
