Aiutiamo Ibraheem a ripopolare le sue arnie

Ciao,

sono Elena Panzera. Ho creato questa campagna per il mio amico palestinese Ibraheem Alkhmoor, che vive a Betlemme, dove ha avviato una piccola azienda agricola biologica, Zakrawi Farms. Nel luglio di quest'anno i coloni israeliani hanno appiccato un incendio in prossimità delle sue arnie, facendo scappare i suoi sciami e impedendogli di portare avanti il suo lavoro.

Questa è la sua storia.

"Sono Ibraheem Alkhmoor, ho 36 anni, sono nato e vivo a Betlemme, in Palestina.

All'età di 19 anni sono venuto in Italia a studiare Scienze per la pace all'Università di Pisa. In quel periodo ho fatto amicizia con tante persone, incluse quelle che oggi mi stanno supportando con questa campagna.

Dopo la laurea ho lavorato alcuni anni negli Stati Uniti, ma poi ho deciso di rientrare in Palestina e avviare la mia azienda agricola di prodotti biologici, Zakrawi Farms, nata nel 2020.

Ho iniziato a produrre miele, olio e zaatar, alimenti che sono anche simboli della mia terra. Le mie arnie e i miei uliveti si trovano tra Gerico, Ramallah e Betlemme. Proprio in quest'ultima zona, la presenza dei coloni si è fatta sempre più invadente e aggressiva. Negli ultimi mesi, oltre ad ampliare il perimetro dell'avamposto colonico, hanno intensificato gli attacchi e le intimidazioni verso i residenti palestinesi che qui vivono e lavorano.

La situazione è andata peggiorando, fino al luglio 2024, quando i coloni hanno appiccato un incendio al sottobosco circostante le mie 45 arnie (come si vede dal video), provocando la fuga di tutti gli sciami di api.

Oltre all'ingente danno economico (ogni sciame ha un costo approssimativo di 200 dollari), è andato perduto il lavoro di anni e un intero raccolto di miele.

Ciò che questo attacco non ha distrutto è il desiderio di continuare a vivere nella mia terra e portare avanti la mia azienda, motivo per cui, con il sostegno di alcuni amici, ho creato questa campagna di raccolta fondi.

I’m Elena Panzera. I created this campaign for my Palestinian friend, Ibraheem Alkhmoor, who lives in Bethlehem, where he started a small organic farming business called Zakrawi Farms. Last July, Israeli settlers set fire near his beehives, causing his swarms to flee and preventing him from continuing his work.

This is his story.

"My name is Ibraheem Alkhmoor, I am 36 years old, and I was born and live in Bethlehem, Palestine.

At the age of 19, I came to Italy to study Science for Peace at the University of Pisa. During that time, I made many friends, including those who are now supporting me with this campaign.

After graduating, I worked for several years in the United States, but then I decided to return to Palestine and start my organic farming business, Zakrawi Farms, which I founded in 2020.

I began producing honey, olive oil, and zaatar, foods that are also symbols of my land. My beehives and olive groves are located between Jericho, Ramallah, and Bethlehem. In this latter area, the presence of settlers has become increasingly intrusive and aggressive. In recent months, in addition to expanding the perimeter of their outpost, they have intensified their attacks and intimidation against Palestinian residents who live and work here.

The situation has worsened, culminating in July 2024, when settlers set fire to the undergrowth surrounding my 45 beehives (as you can see in the video), causing all my bee swarms to flee.

Besides the significant financial loss (each swarm costs approximately $200), years of work and an entire honey harvest have been lost.

What this attack did not destroy is my desire to continue living on my land and running my business, which is why, with the support of some friends, I created this fundraising campaign.
