Aiutiamo Denver a curarsi a Milano

Ciao siamo Vanessa e Denver, un bulldog francese di quasi 5 anni, viviamo in Sardegna e a ottobre del 2022 inizia il nostro calvario.  

2022 Iniziò tutto da un’otite che non passava con nessun farmaco così decidemmo dietro suggerimento del veterinario di fare una risonanza. E risultò una massa che decisero di operare, ma dopo l’operazione non ci furono miglioramenti e passammo 6 mesi tra casa e clinica cercando una soluzione, ma non ci fu. Decidemmo di sentire un altro veterinario che ci consigliò una tac per poi operare nuovamente Denver allo stesso orecchio!!! La seconda TECA LBO. Un’operazione molto invasiva che prevede la rimozione completa del condotto uditivo esterno e una parte della bolla timpanica, la struttura ossea che racchiude l'orecchio medio. Potete immaginare il dolore e la sofferenza per tutti noi e il povero Denver. L’operazione gli portò delle crisi epilettiche e la posizione della testa molto pendente. 

 

2023 Nel novembre 2023 si bloccò anche il collo e decidemmo di fare una nuova risonanza e incredibilmente risultò che il problema all’orecchio non era passato e quindi avrebbero dovuto ri-operarmi. Cosa che decidemmo di NON fare. Troppa paura di peggiorare le cose. Si aggiunge che Denver inizia a vomitare e si può dire che da allora non ha mai smesso! Iniziammo a girare cliniche ma ci diedero tutti tanti pareri contrastanti su cosa potesse avere ed erano tutte supposizioni. Seguirono visite specialistiche… esami lastre ecografie… 3 gastroscopie e tutte e 3 diedero un risultato diverso. La situazione era insostenibile e nessuno nella nostra terra natia ci dava risposte e fiducia! 

 

2024 A maggio 2024 l’ennesima gastroscopia, decisero di operarmi di Baos pensando che il problema del vomito fosse quello, peccato che BAOS non è SOLO naso e palato. Infatti la situazione è addirittura peggiorata! Denver non può più giocare, non può fare passeggiate, non può mangiare un pasto per intero… e son ricomparsi i sintomi dell’anoressia! Denver per non vomitare deve star fermo nella cuccia e questa non è piu una vita! BASTA, sapevamo che l’unica nostra soluzione era recarci a Milano dove c’è un dottore professore chirurgo specializzato nella razza, capace solo lui di affrontare questo complesso quadro clinico e risolverlo. Per iniziare, già solo grazie a un semplice esame floroscopico lui è in grado di darti con certezza l’esito sull’esistenza o meno di un’ernia iatale. 

 

2025 Decidiamo, disperati dalla situazione, di aprire questa raccolta fondi e con coraggio di recarci a Milano e grazie a questo esame, che in Sardegna non fanno, emerge il reale problema del suo vomito, GRAVE ERNIA IATALE DA OPERARE. Ma Denver non dovrà subire solo questa operazione, il dottore dovrà ri-operarlo all’orecchio per la terza volta, perchè al momento perde addirittura pus! Ah, la testa storta è il danno irreversibile di un nervo toccato nella precedente operazione. La nostra unica speranza è questa operazione a Milano che dobbiamo fare al più presto, Denver nel frattempo soffre terribilmente ma il costo dell’operazione è di 6000 euro più i costi già sostenuti della prima visita e quelli che dobbiamo sostenere per la TAC (sperando non si conclami un osteolisi - tumore) più esami preparatori e spostamenti. Da soli non ce la facciamo. Abbiamo fortemente bisogno del vostro aiuto perché senza questi soldi non possiamo salvarlo e restituire a Denver tutta la serenità che merita e che gli manca da troppo tempo. Grazie in anticipo❤️

Hi everyone from Vanessa and Denver, a nearly 5-year-old French bulldog, we live in Sardinia and our ordeal began in October 2022. 

 2022 It all started with an ear infection that could not pass with any medication so we decided upon the vet's suggestion to have an X-ray. It turned out to be a mass which had to be operated on, but after the operation there was no improvement and we spent 6 months at home and at the clinic looking for a solution, but there was none. We decided to consult another vet who recommended a CAT scan and then operated again Denver on the same ear!!! The second TECALBO, Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Ostectomy, was a very invasive surgery involving the complete removal of the external ear canal and part of the tympanic membrane, the bony structure enclosing the middle ear. For all of us and poor Denver, you can imagine the pain and suffering. The operation caused him to have epileptic seizures and a very prone head position. 

 2023 In November 2023 his neck got stuck as well and we decided to have a new MRI and incredibly it turned out that the ear problem was not over and hence needed to be re-operated. Something we decided NOT to do. Too afraid of making things worse. On top of that, Denver started throwing up and it can be said that he has never stopped ever after! We started visiting clinics but all of them came up with conflicting opinions on what he might have and that was all supposition. Specialist visits followed... examinations, x-rays, ultrasounds... 3 gastroscopies and all 3 gave different results. The situation was unbearable and no one in our native land gave us answers and confidence! 

 2024 In May 2024 the umpteenth gastroscopy, they then decided to operate on Baos thinking that the issue of throwing up was only that - unfortunately BAOS is not ONLY nose and palate. Indeed, the situation got even worse! Denver can no longer play, cannot go for walks, cannot eat a whole meal... and the symptoms of anorexia have come back! Denver has to keep himself in the dog bed to avoid throwing up and this is no way for him to live! We knew that our only solution was to go to Milan where there is a professor surgeon specialised on this breed, who is the only one capable of dealing with this complex clinical picture and resolving it. Just by means of a simple floroscopic examination he could tell you for sure whether a hiatal hernia existed or not. 

 

2025 We took the decision, in despair over the situation, to open this fund-raising and courageously go to Milan, and thanks to this exam, which in Sardinia is not done, it turns out the real problem of his throwing up, SERIOUS IATAL HERNIA TO BE OPERATED. Yet Denver will not only have to undergo this surgery, the surgeon will have to re-operate on his ear for the third time, as he is even bleeding some pus at the moment! And the twisted head is the irreversible damage of a nerve touched in the previous operation. Our sole hope is this surgery in Milan that we must carry out as soon as possible, Denver in the meantime is suffering terribly, but the cost of the operation is 6,000 euro plus the costs already incurred for the first examination and those we have to incur for the CT scan (hoping that it will not turn out to be an osteolysis-tumour) plus preparatory examinations and travel. We cannot do this alone. We strongly need your help since without this money we cannot save him and give Denver back all the peace of mind he deserves and which he has been lacking for too long.
