Chi mi conosce sa cosa faccio e cosa non faccio con le mie (poche) forze nel campo del volontariato.

Nonostante le controversie, ho sempre cercato di dare il tutto e per tutto e come dice un amico: "Le uniche persone che non sbagliano sono quelle che non fanno niente"

Quest'anno, con l'appoggio di due fantastiche volontarie, ho avuto la possibilità di conoscere due gatti speciali: Flora e Paco.

Flora è stata trovata nei boschi, come sia sopravvissuta non si sa. Dicevano avesse un raffreddore, in realtà era un polipo, che si è riformato due volte. Quando le gattine della sua età vengono sterilizzare, lei era sotto i ferri per cercare di respirare e tornare a vivere. Non è stato facile.

Paco viene da Napoli. Trovato per strada in condizioni disperate, con tutto e più nel corpo, un occhio non è stato salvato. È arrivato da me nella speranza di trovare un futuro, e qui purtroppo ha avuto un enucleazione con complicazioni. Anche lui, due interventi.

Sono due storie molto simili, di resistenza e di speranza.

Dico sempre che non si deve pensare ai soldi, l'importante è salvare l'animale, e in fin dei conti è così.

Per loro due c'è un futuro. Per molti altri no. Dovrei reputarli fortunati.

Quello che resta sono i debiti. Tanti, tantissimi debiti. E finché ci sono i debiti, le possibilità di aiutare altre anime disperate diminuisce.

Non servono grandi gesti, basta anche solo una condivisione o il prezzo di un caffè. Basta pochissimo. Se questo appello arriverà nella bacheca giusta, sarà un successo.

Aiutateci ad aiutare tanti altri Paco e Flora che aspettano lì fuori.

Aiutate due per aiutarli tutti.

Anyone who knows me knows what I do, and what I don’t do, with the (few) resources I have in the field of volunteering.

Despite the controversies, I’ve always tried to give it my all and, as a friend of mine says: “The only people who don’t make mistakes are those who do nothing.”

This year, with the support of two amazing volunteers, I had the chance to meet two special cats: Flora and Paco.

Flora was found in the woods. How she survived, no one knows. They said it was just a cold, but it turned out to be a polyp, which came back twice. While kittens her age were being spayed, she was in surgery just trying to breathe and stay alive. It wasn’t easy.

Paco comes from Naples. He was found on the street in desperate condition, with all sorts of issues in his body, and one of his eyes couldn’t be saved. He came to me in the hope of finding a future, and here he unfortunately had to go through an enucleation, with complications. He too went through two surgeries.

These are two very similar stories, stories of resilience and hope.

I always say you shouldn’t think about money, the important thing is to save the animal, and in the end, that’s true.

For these two, there is a future. For many others, there isn’t. I should consider them lucky.

What remains are the debts. Many, many debts. And as long as there are debts, the possibility of helping other desperate souls decreases.

No big gestures are needed. Even just a share or the price of a coffee is enough. It really takes very little. If this appeal reaches the right feed, it will already be a success.
