Aiutare la famiglia Galanti dall’alluvione

On the night of the 16th of May, the town of Faenza and the surrounding areas have been impacted by extreme flooding overnight with the level of water rising up to 3.5 meters.   There have been landslides in the surrounding hills and major flooding in the towns. At this point there has not been a town in the region that has not been impacted.   The river Lamone broke the banks directly in front of our family homes, our father’s, our grandma’s and aunt’s. The impact of the water has destroyed everything. The river bank has slid onto the road and the homes cannot be accessed safely yet. We have 40 cm of thick mud in the houses and the forecast of warm weather is on the way, this means we need to act fast.   Our homes have been our homes for 50+ years as well as having our family business that is now gone. The houses are destroyed. We suffered great damage and it’s heart breaking to see a lifetime of hard work gone within hours.   There is major damage to all parts of the homes and the clean-up process will be massive.   In order to start the clean-up, we will need a lot of cleaning tools, heaving machinery such as industrial hoses to pump the water out, diggers, professional advice for the safety of the operations, fans for drying, removal of what is water damaged and then paint and renovate where possible to do so.   We ask our friends, our communities in Australia, in Italy, our family members, that if you are in a position to help us, we would greatly appreciate it and it would help us rebuild.   Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Galanti Family

Nella notte del 16 maggio la città di Faenza e le zone limitrofe sono state colpite da un'alluvione estrema durante la notte con un aumento del livello dell'acqua fino a 3,5 metri.   Ci sono state frane nelle colline circostanti e gravi allagamenti nelle città. A questo punto non c'è stata una città nella regione che non sia stata colpita.   Il fiume Lamone ha rotto gli argini proprio davanti alle case della nostra famiglia, di nostro padre, di nostra nonna e di nostra zia. L'impatto dell'acqua ha distrutto tutto. L'argine del fiume è scivolato sulla strada e le case non sono ancora accessibili in sicurezza. Abbiamo 40 cm di fango denso nelle case e le previsioni del caldo sono in arrivo, questo significa che dobbiamo agire in fretta.   Le nostre case sono state le nostre per oltre 50 anni, oltre ad avere la nostra azienda di famiglia che ora non c'è più. Le case sono distrutte. Abbiamo subito gravi danni ed è straziante vedere una vita di duro lavoro svanita in poche ore.   Ci sono gravi danni in tutte le parti delle case e il processo di pulizia sarà enorme.   Per iniziare la pulizia, avremo bisogno di molti strumenti di pulizia, macchinari pesanti come tubi industriali per pompare l'acqua, scavatrici, consulenza professionale per la sicurezza delle operazioni, ventilatori per l'asciugatura, rimozione di ciò che è acqua danneggiato e quindi dipingere e rinnovare ove possibile e comprare mobilio nuovo.   Chiediamo ai nostri amici, alle nostre comunità in Australia, in Italia, ai nostri familiari, che se siete in grado di aiutarci, lo apprezzeremmo molto e ci aiuterebbe a ricostruire.   Grazie dal profondo dei nostri cuori, Famiglia Galanti
