Ciao a tutti, vi scrivo con il cuore in mano per chiedere un aiuto per il mio gatto, che da novembre 2024 soffre di un forte dolore alla bocca. Non riesce più a mangiare, nemmeno i cibi più morbidi, e quando ci prova urla, piange e si butta a terra per il dolore. È una scena straziante. Abbiamo provato cure pensando fosse gengivite, ma il sollievo è stato solo temporaneo. Il veterinario ora sospetta FORL (riassorbimento odontoclastico felino) o stomatite autoimmune, malattie molto dolorose che possono essere diagnosticate solo con radiografie specifiche e/o biopsia gengivale. In entrambi i casi, spesso è necessaria l’estrazione dei denti malati. Ha avuto anche problemi renali ed epatici causati dai farmaci prescritti (Stomorgyl e Bentelan), quindi servono analisi del sangue per valutare l’idoneità all’anestesia. Quando ha troppo dolore, si allontana da casa e si rifugia nelle colonie, ma quando lo cerco e lo chiamo torna subito. Con gli antidolorifici mangia e si lascia curare, ma senza tende ad andarsene spesso. Lo recupero ogni 2-3 giorni. È un maschio intero, molto buono con umani e altri gatti, ma non ha microchip: se si allontana troppo potrei perderlo.

Sto raccogliendo fondi per:

-visita specialistica

-biopsia gengivale

-radiografie dentali

-analisi del sangue

-eventuale estrazione dentale

-anestesia

-farmaci post-operatori

-microchip e sterilizzazione.

So che non è un periodo facile per nessuno, ma anche una piccola donazione può fare la differenza. Voglio solo vederlo stare meglio, senza dolore. Grazie di cuore a chi può aiutare, anche solo condividendo la campagna.

I’m writing with my heart in my hand to ask for help for my cat, who has been suffering from severe mouth pain since November 2024. He can no longer eat, not even the softest food, and when he tries, he screams, cries, and throws himself to the ground in pain. It’s heartbreaking to watch.

We tried treatments thinking it was gingivitis, but the relief was only temporary. The vet now suspects FORL (Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions) or autoimmune stomatitis—very painful conditions that can only be diagnosed through specific dental X-rays and/or gum biopsy. In both cases, the extraction of diseased teeth is often necessary.

He also developed kidney and liver issues caused by the prescribed medications (Stomorgyl and Bentelan), so blood tests are needed to assess if he’s fit for anesthesia.

When the pain becomes too much, he runs away and hides in nearby colonies, but when I look for him and call, he comes right back. With painkillers, he eats and lets me care for him, but without them, he tends to disappear often—I have to go find him every 2–3 days. He is an unneutered male, very sweet with people and other cats, but he doesn’t have a microchip: if he goes too far, I might lose him forever.

- microchip and neutering
