Un sogno da realizzare

Vorrei raccontarvi la mia storia.

Mi chiamo Amelio Castro, sono un ragazzo colombiano e ho avuto la fortuna di trovare nella scherma e nelle Fiamme Oro una nuova famiglia.

Quando sono arrivato in Italia il 5 Settembre 2022, portavo con me solo la speranza di poter ricominciare. Poco tempo prima, infatti, un grave incidente avvenuto il 6 Novembre 2012 mi aveva costretto a reinventarmi completamente.

La vita non è stata semplice, ma fin dal primo giorno qui ho trovato persone straordinarie che mi hanno accolto e sostenuto: il maestro Daniele Pantoni e tutto il team delle Fiamme Oro, che mi hanno fatto sentire parte di qualcosa di grande.

La strada per un atleta paralimpico rifugiato, però, non è facile: viaggi, attrezzature, iscrizioni alle Coppe del Mondo… ogni passo richiede un grande impegno, anche economico.

Eppure non ho mai voluto arrendermi. Con il sorriso, con il lavoro quotidiano e con la mia passione continuo a inseguire un sogno grande: partecipare ai Giochi Paralimpici di Los Angeles 2028 e dimostrare che la forza dell’anima può superare qualsiasi barriera.

Per questo oggi vi chiedo di sostenermi.

Ogni contributo, anche piccolo, può fare la differenza e aiutarmi a rappresentare con orgoglio i colori che mi hanno accolto, salendo in pedana con la forza e la gratitudine che porto nel cuore. Se qualcuno è interessato a conoscere la mia storia sarò felice di raccontarvela personalmente!

Sosteniamo insieme questo sogno.

Non è solo la mia battaglia, ma quella di tutti noi che crediamo nello sport, nell’amicizia e nella rinascita.

A Dream to Achieve

I would like to tell you my story.

My name is Amelio Castro, I am a Colombian athlete, and I have been fortunate enough to find in fencing and in the Fiamme Oro team a new family.

When I arrived in Italy on September 5, 2022, I carried with me only the hope of starting over. A short time before, in fact, a serious accident on November 6, 2012, had forced me to completely reinvent myself.

Life hasn’t been easy, but from the very first day here I found extraordinary people who welcomed and supported me: Maestro Daniele Pantoni and the entire Fiamme Oro team, who made me feel part of something truly great.

The road for a Paralympic refugee athlete, however, is not easy: travel, equipment, registration fees for World Cups... every step requires great effort, including financial.

And yet, I have never wanted to give up. With a smile, with daily hard work, and with my passion, I continue to chase a big dream: to compete in the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games and to prove that the strength of the soul can overcome any barrier.

That’s why today I ask for your support.
