Ciao a tutti,

un paio di settimane fa ero a Sarajevo per lavoro e ho incontrato, tra le strade del centro, questa cagnolina.

In Bosnia ci sono molti cani randagi e lei era una di loro. Non tutti i cani stanno necessariamente male in strada, ma la cagnolina che ho incontrato non è adatta alla vita di strada e sono abbastanza sicura che, se rimarrà lì, avrà un'esistenza breve.

Ha circa 6-8 mesi, è molto timida e si muoveva sempre nelle stesse aree ma mai in branco. Era estremamente attenta ai gesti bruschi o troppo veloci, cosa che mi ha fatto pensare possa aver subito qualche tipo di abuso. Si metteva ai piedi delle persone sedute sulle panchine del parco come se aspettasse qualcuno e seguiva insistentemente chiunque le regalasse un po' di amore. Nonostante la timidezza, come potete vedere dal video, è una cagnolina molto dolce e giocherellona.

Inutile dire che sto investendo tutte le mie risorse per portarla in Italia e farla adottare qui, perché purtroppo tutti i canili locali mi hanno confermato che le adozioni sono ferme, che i cani sono moltissimi e i fondi inesistenti, ho contattato anche parecchie associazioni italiane che operano sul territorio Bosniaco però appunto questa è la realtà della situazione un pò ovunque. Tutto il processo è molto stressante e lungo, ma cerchiamo di fare tutto un passo alla volta.

La missione è quella di riuscire a portarla in Italia e successivamente farla adottare.

Per farlo abbiamo bisogno di raccogliere circa 400-600 euro per coprire le spese di :

+ Pensione a Sarajevo che la ospiterà per un mese e dove verranno fatti vaccini, antirabbica e passaporto.

+ Staffetta dalla bosnia all'Italia

+ Sterilizzazione ( sarebbe bello che il costo della steriilzzazione non dovesse essere accreditato all'adottante )

+ Stallo in Italia finche non si trova adozione.

Salvare un cane dalla strada sicuro non cambia il mondo, però cambia completamente il mondo di quel cane.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Sarajevo for work and, while walking through the city center, I met this little dog.

There are many stray dogs in Bosnia, and unfortunately some of them are subjected to abuse (although, of course, there are also many people who deeply love animals and do everything they can to help them). Not every stray dog is necessarily suffering on the streets, but the little dog I met is simply not suited to street life, and I am fairly certain that if she remains there, her future will be a short one.

She is about 6–8 months old, very shy, and always stayed in the same areas of the city, but never with a pack. She was extremely sensitive to sudden or fast movements, which made me think she may have experienced some kind of abuse. She would curl up at the feet of people sitting on park benches as if she were waiting for someone, and she would eagerly follow anyone who showed her even a little affection. Despite her shyness, as you can see from the video, she is an incredibly sweet and playful puppy.

Needless to say, I am doing everything I can to bring her to Italy and find her a loving home. Unfortunately, every local shelter I contacted confirmed that adoptions have virtually stopped, there are far too many dogs, and funding is almost nonexistent. I also reached out to several Italian organizations working in Bosnia, but this is the reality of the situation in many places.

The entire process is long, stressful, and complicated, but we are trying to tackle it one step at a time.

Our goal is to bring her safely to Italy and then find her a forever home.

To make this possible, we need to raise approximately €400–600 to cover the following expenses:

Boarding in Sarajevo for one month, where she will receive her vaccinations, rabies vaccine, and passport.

Transport from Bosnia to Italy.

Spaying (it would be wonderful if this cost did not have to be passed on to her future adopter).

Temporary foster care in Italy until a permanent home is found.

Saving one dog from the streets may not change the world, but it changes that dog's entire world.
