Update!!! Aislinn has now been at
Homewood in Guelph for 3 months. Through her 18th birthday, Christmas and New Years. There have been many bumps in the road. Many “I’m done and want to leave” moments. But she “surrendered” and embraced the treatment there. The program was estimated to be 120 days. Her anticipated discharge date is January 28th! She has worked hard for this and we are so proud.
The $10,500 a month would not have been possible without your support. And I cannot thank you enough. We have another half a month to pay for. There will be a silent auction happening soon via the gym but I am also reposting this to raise the reaming money.
If we happen to go over the goal funds will be split between CMHA and a fund to help Aislinn to pay for her therapy post discharge...because as a business owner I don’t have benefits. Add the lockdown...and things are a wee bit tight.
If you are able to support we would be most grateful. And if you want information on the silent auction please do reach out to me.

Aislinn has been struggling with her mental health for the past 6 years. Trauma, PTSD and anxiety/mood challenges first lead her to therapy. Traditional therapy and the medical system have failed her. Complicated by a thyroid disorder and then further complicated by an eating disorder. The treatment options available in Sudbury are insufficient for her level of complication.
As her mother I’m so proud of her for recognizing that she needs more help than is available to her as an out patient. She has chosen an inpatient program at Homewood in Guelph. Without benefits this will be a struggle financially. But we are determined to get her the most suitable care for her return to health.
When she was 10 Aislinn shaved her head to donate her hair for children with Cancer. Last weekend after being released from hospital she did this again. We are focusing this campaign on collecting hair for donation and funds for Aislinn’s mental health treatment.
You can decide to collect funds for shaving your own head or donate to encourage someone else to shave theirs.
As her mom, I will be joining her with a shaved head to “stand with her” in her mental health journey. You are welcome to join us for a head shaving fiesta on October 17th. Details to follow.
