We are organising a fundraiser CCAA - children with arthritis charity who are a non statutory charity who receive no government funding however still do the most amazing things for children that are going through this awful life altering diagnosis. This charity holds a special place in our heart, and is run by volunteers that all have their own experiences with Juvenile idiopathic arthritis. We have been on a family support weekend recently that was all funded by the charity - accommodation, food, activities and even talks by medical professionals for parents. My daughter Aisla who is 8, was diagnosed with JIA a year and a half ago, with unexplained pain since 3 years old. She is now on injections weekly and bi-weekly to help keep the arthritis under control - and believe me it has not been an easy journey! After attending the family support weekend, Aisla decided she wanted every child with arthritis and their families to have this experience and in her own words “let them realise they aren’t on their own and there are other families out there going through the same thing! I want everybody to have the chance to go on this weekend and feel like a normal kid.”
From this, it has inspired Aisla to do a pier to pier walk and a fundraiser at The Brunswick pub- charminster aswell.
Thank you for reading and we will be releasing the date for the fundraiser shortly❤️
Please share!☺️
