Hi Friends!
I decided to set up this page to help out Aisha through this tough time. As many of you know Aisha has just had her second unexpected, and unplanned emergency spinal surgery in a year and a half. This operation was a little more intense because the doctor had to go through scar tissue from the initial surgery. Although she has health insurance, her copay is actually $6,000! She used up all of her savings from her first spinal microdiscectomy followed closely by the broken foot.
As you can imagine, the hardship on her family is exacerbated by the fact that she can't work for at least 6 weeks. She REALLY needs to take this time to heal correctly and CAN'T rush back to work because she needs to avoid a potential fusion of her L5/S1 disc. I want to take as much stress off of her as possible so she can allow her body to fully heal. She is self-employed and this is her busiest month of the year, which is adding to her stress that we can help alleviate.
She is lucky to have such a community of people that love Aisha and her family. She is always willing to be there for her friends and family, I think this is an excellent opportunity to show our love, appreciation, and support.
