Hola, soy Liliam, vivo en Sydney y, como consecuencia del accidente ocurrido el pasado 6 de febrero cuyos detalles se pueden ver en los links de la noticia, estuve hospitalizada un mes. En resumen, tuve fracturas en el esternón, costillas, cuello, columna y uno de mis brazos, órganos internos lacerados, y estrés postraumático. Es un regalo estar viva.
Ahora, me decidí a crear este fondo porque la aseguradora hasta el momento se ha responsabilizado de los onerosos gastos de hospitalización, afortunadamente, pero ya hace mes y medio no genero ingresos. Mi escuela y varias personas me han colaborado hasta ahora, pero no puedo ser una carga adicional para ellos por tanto tiempo. Mi incapacidad para trabajar puede llegar a los seis meses y sin garantías de poder desempeñarme en lo mismo. Debo continuar pagando renta y comida como mínimo, y en algunos especialistas debo pagar antes y reclamar al seguro que no te reembolsa pronto si lo autorizan. El seguro reconoce un porcentaje de los ingresos que tenía si se cuenta con documentos que lo certifiquen y los estudiantes me entenderán que no siempre es así. Mi familia me está apoyando como puede desde Colombia, nada fácil con la devaluación del peso, y hasta el momento no están conmigo por las condiciones mundiales actuales.
En conclusión, debo admitir que necesito ayuda. Creo que esa debe ser una de las lecciones de esta experiencia porque quienes me conocen saben que siempre he preferido dar que pedir algo. No veo muchas alternativas todavía, no sé cómo será mi vida en adelante, pero no tengo como opción desesperarme. Así que agradezco su ayuda de cualquier manera... algunos dólares, compartiendo este fondo en sus redes sociales, palabras de ánimo y también oraciones. No saben lo que se aprecia el más mínimo detalle cuando lo que se supone que sólo le pasa a otros le ocurre a tus amigos y a vos. De corazón muchas gracias.

However, I have decided to set up this GoFundMe because for a month and a half I have not been able to generate any income. My school and several people have assisted me so far, but I cannot be an additional burden for them for so long.
My inability to work may last for the next six months and even after this time, there is no guarantee that I will be able to perform as before. I must continue to pay for rent and food as a minimum. At some specialists I must pay upfront and claim the insurance after. Even if the insurance company does decide to reimburse me, the authorisation process takes a long time.
The insurance company has agreed to pay me a percentage of my former income, as long as I have all the supporting documents. Other international students will understand, this is not easy and a small amount anyhow.
My family is supporting me as best they can from Colombia. However, this is not easy with the devaluation of the peso, and so far they are not with me due to current world conditions.
In conclusion, I must admit that I need help. I think that this will be one of the lessons of this experience, because those who know me know that I have always preferred to give than to ask for something. I don't see many alternatives yet, I don't know what my life will be like in the future, but I don't have the option to despair. So, I appreciate your help in any way ... some money, sharing my situation on your social networks, words of encouragement and also prayers. You don't know how much the smallest detail is appreciated when what is supposed to only happen to others happens to you and your friends. From my heart thank you very much.
