Airborne solidarity for Burt

Hi there. My best friend, musical wife, best drawer I know, podcast co-host, top dosser Christian Burton was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease at the end of 2024. It has been completely merciless. The physical symptoms are cruel beyond belief, but the emotional impact the rest of us can only image. yet he, and his other half Sian, face every day with pragmatism, humour and bravery. We have had a gofundme for a while some great people have raised money. And this is essential - cost of a power char that meets his needs? Circa £20k. Expensive business. So I tried to work out what I could do to raise some money. Physical was out as I've various bits that wouldn't be much cop. I see Chris every week and he always inspires me, especially not by capitulation into bitterness and self-pity (that would be me in his situation). So to show my respect for his bravery and hopefully raise a few quid for some more eyegaze technology. I'm off on a plane. Sounds easy I guess, but I haven't been on a plane since I was 16 (36 years ago) due to a complete paranoid phobia of it. Its buggerall compared to what Chris is facing up to so here I go. I gave him a 2.5 hr radius so I'm off to Naples. I'm shitting it, but it just shows the relativity of something trivial vs real life and how harsh it can be.
