Air Purifier for the Pandemic!

Hi Parents! These are unprecedented times! Entire human race is fighting against the micro-menace SARS-COV2 virus. Thank you for all the initiatives that Uplift North Hills Preparatory school parents are taking to protect all kids from COVID and most recent Delta strain. Arguably, the best practice would be to have VIRTUAL OPTION approved by the school management for the unvaccinated kids. UNHP parents are approaching this at various levels. Please extend your support to the Parents in pushing the bill for Virtual Classroom.

Recent research and CDC have clearly suggested that masks can help reduce the amount of virus people give off, though the coronavirus can still escape if the face coverings are worn loosely. Further research also suggests that with the dominance of newer, more contagious variants increased attention to improved ventilation, filtration, air sanitation, and use of high-quality tight-fitting face masks or respirators will be increasingly important for controlling the pandemic.

In line with this the North Hills parent community have obtained approval from Yasmin Bhatia, Uplift Education CEO for supplying an air purifier to each classroom at North Hills. This would be a yet another mode for us to contribute to our overall safety efforts. Our goal is to supplement the existing measures that the management has taken (updating the school with CDC recommended Vent system/filters and so-called social distancing).

Goal: Supply 75 air purifiers and a replacement filter which should last for 2 semesters

Model approved: Medify Air MA-40 air purifier, coverage- 840 sq ft of classroom space

Funds: Parent donations to the tune of 23000 USD

Purifier from: Medify Air has agreed to deliver within 72 hours of order placement and have extended a generous discount. Also, the order will be tax free.

UNHP’s role: Joint Operation Director Jorge Alcala will coordinate delivery and installation in each classroom
