Air Filters for WSFCS Elementary Teachers
COVID 19 Resources
For up to date and accurate information about COVID safety, visit the CDC or WHO websites.
WS/FCS Community for Safe Schools is raising money to purchase supplies (box fans, filters, and duct tape) to build Corsi-Rosenthal Box air purifiers for elementary school teachers in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools district. As parents and community members, we care about our teachers and students and want to make sure their classrooms have all the covid-19 mitigations we can provide. As a principal organizer for Community for Safe Schools, funds will be deposited in my personal account and I will be responsible for directing all supplies purchases. We have kept close records of all expenditures and are happy to share our records with donors upon request.
Response from teachers has been overwhelming; we launched on New Year's Eve and have had nearly 150 requests. Our first Corsi-Rosenthal Box Build was covered by the media:

Air filtration--removing virus and other pollutants to improve indoor air quality--is an essential Covid-19 mitigation strategy. Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes were invented by Dr. Richard Corsi and Jim Rosenthal, indoor air quality experts who designed these award-winning DIY devices that, in numerous studies, perform as well or better than commercially available air purifiers. CR Boxes are made of high-quality MERV-13 furnace filters attached to a box fan. They are safe and effective, used in thousands of classrooms, offices, and homes around the world.
Community for Safe Schools has donated 70 CR Boxes and aims to raise $6800 to provide an additional 100 CR Boxes to WS/FCS elementary school teachers as soon as possible. CFSS has a proven track record of mobilizing community support to deliver Covid-19 mitigation strategies to WS/FCS, including coordinating the donation and delivery of more than 100,000 KN95 masks for teachers and staff.
We welcome partnerships with individuals, businesses, community groups, and congregations to help us achieve our goal of supporting safe and healthy WS/FCS schools. Please feel free to contact us by email at winstonsalemcfss at gmail dot com.
