Air Ambulance to Get Becky Back Home
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Diana Williams. I am fundraising to pay for an air ambulance flight to get my daughter, Becky, home to Virginia from a hospital in Palm Springs, California.
Happy occasions can turn into a disaster in the blink of an eye. My husband, Michael, our daughter Becky and I traveled from Norfolk, Virginia, to Palm Springs, California, on January 8, 2022, to enjoy a brief reunion with our other two daughters. On just the second day of our visit, Becky, who is a double organ transplant recipient, became ill and was hospitalized at Eisenhower Health Center here in Palm Springs. She was admitted to the ICU, where she has remained for six weeks. Becky was on the ventilator for most of that time. Now, her condition has finally stabilized to the point where she can get off the ventilator and out of the ICU.
It has taken these six weeks to get her to the point where she can travel safely. However, she is still too fragile to travel home by any other means except air ambulance. The cost of an air ambulance is $50,000.
Rather than returning to Virginia without her, her dad and I have remained in Palm Springs to support Becky and oversee her care. We need to get Becky back home to a hospital in our hometown in the Norfolk, Virginia area. We need to do it now.
We are asking for contributions to help defray the cost of getting Becky back home.
