My name is Nicole Reece-Bess. I am a mother of 4 from Jamaica who has been living and working in the U.S. for the past 6 years as a newborn care specialist. I am seeking assistance for my youngest son, 13 year old Bradley Alphanso Reece Jr., who is suffering from a life-threatening medical condition that requires immediate attention.
On December 5th, Bradley Jr. was admitted to the University Hospital of the West Indies pediatrics ward in Kingston, Jamaica with a fever, dizziness, neck stiffness, vomiting, diarrhea, severe headache, weakness in the limbs, confusion, and in pain and distress. Since arriving at the hospital 25 days ago, Bradley Jr. has undergone multiple CT scans and MRI’s, surgery to clear his sinus cavity – where he endured a seizure mid-surgery and found blood clot in the blood vessel of his brain, an echo-cardiogram, a spinal tap, and countless blood draws and medications. Over the past 2 days, my son went from 133 lbs to 128 lbs, and the injection sites on his skin have become infected. He has been vomiting, is running a 104 degree fever, and his liver bloodwork is now showing signs of damage. We are monitoring his kidneys every 48 hours.
As I write this today, December 30th – just one day away from Bradley Jr's 14th birthday – doctors remain baffled and still have no diagnosis. Based on outside medical advice, it is clear that the best decision for my child is to obtain advanced expert medical attention at a specialized pediatric hospital in the United States of America.
We are in need of your help. All donations will go directly toward the air ambulance to relocate Bradley Jr. to a hospital in the U.S. We thank you for any amount donated and appreciate it if you could share this with your friends and family, as we are trying to raise the money as quickly as possible.
