My name is Esther King and I live in the US. I'm reaching out on behalf of my oldest brother, Pasqual Peters, who lives in Liberta Village, Antigua. Pasqual is a beloved brother who loves people and who goes above and beyond to help others if it is in his power to do so. In May of 2025, he started hemorrhaging (hemoptysis) from his mouth and nose. He was rushed to Sir Lester Bird Medical Center in St. John's, Antigua, West Indies, where he was placed in an induced coma for almost 10 days due to pneumonia in his lungs. He was given antibiotic treatment to treat the infection. Subsequently, he has been in and out of the hospital for several months due to tightness in his chest and bleeding again from his lungs. A CT scan was done with contrast, which confirmed he has COPD but found a suspicious mass on his right lung, which is causing him excruciating back pain. The doctor in Antigua suspected it’s cancerous, but he needs to see a thoracic surgeon to biopsy the tumor.

Although the hospital in Antigua provides great healthcare and has qualified doctors, it does not provide advanced procedures such as Bronchoscopy/PET Scan. Therefore, the doctor at Sir Lester Bird Medical Center in St. John's, Antigua, West Indies, recommended he goes to Martinique to get a PET Scan and Bronchoscopy to biopsy the tissue. Due to the urgency of the situation, my brother and I had to travel from the US to Antigua to assist him . Because Pasqual's health continued to deteriorate rapidly, the only solution was to air lift him to Martinique through a courtesy of the Calvin Ayre Foundation one way for which we are forever grateful. Pasqual was able to get the PET Scan and Biopsy done at the CHU de MARTINIQUE Hospital while my other brother stayed for 4 days and I stayed for a total of 9 days in a hotel making sure he was ok. After the PET scan was done, the doctor was able to show us the location of the tumor in his right lung. The doctor said the mass does appear cancerous but will have a definitive answer with the biopsy.

The challenge we have now is getting Pasqual back to Antigua hospital as the doctor does not recommend him flying commercial as he is too weak. He will need another Air Ambulance, oxygen tank and accompanied by a medical assistance. The foundation is willing to help again, but this time we have to pay which I understand. He will need to be airlifted back to Antigua from Martinique. Once he is back in Antigua he will await the results of the test. If it is cancer he will need Chemotherapy and financial assistance.

01/26/2026 Update
Pasqual and I were able to return to Antigua safely last week after Martinique Hospital worked with Antigua Hospital. This experience was quite overwhelming and traumatic for my two brothers and I. He continues to have challenges breathing due to the tumor on his lung. Pasqual is now waiting to see the Oncologist who will review the biopsy report from Martinique. Once he meets with the Oncologist he will know what treatment he will need to shrink the tumor.

02/18/2026
It took three weeks to get the biopsy result due to miscommunication and waiting for the biopsy to be translated from French to English. The biopsy report came back stating he has malignant pulmonary tumor in his right lung, so therefore he will be having Chemotherapy.

03/02/2026
Pasqual was able to finally get the blood transfusion he needed as his blood count was low.

03/04/2006
Pasqual received his first Chemotherapy treatment today, so we are so excited that he has finally started the treatment. He will be getting the drugs for couple months following up with scans to make sure the tumor is shrinking.

03/25/2026
Pasqual had his second Chemotherapy treatment today.

04/15/2026
Pasqual completed another Chemotherapy treatment.

05/07/2026
Pasqual continue to have Chemotherapy treatment. He is still in pain but continue to hope.

06/03/2026
Pasqual's Chemo was delayed by a week because his blood was count was low. He had to get two donors to to donate blood which was a success.

06/22/2026
As of today Pasqual is still in the hospital since 06/09/2026 due to coughing up blood. After doing a CT scan they said the tumor has not shrunk and now has small lesions on his lower back. The Vascular surgeon also said he has an infrarenal aortic aneurysm bulge. Per the Vascular surgeon he is a high risk patient and surgery is not recommended. Please continue to pray as this is very difficult.

On June 21, my sister, brother and I spoke to the Oncologist. We requested for Pasqual to get the Keytruda drug (immunetherapy medication) seeing he has PD-LA 1 protein. The type of cancer he has is Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) . We are now waiting to hear if he will get it as it is a very expensive drug.

On June 24th, Pasqual was given Chemotherapy.

On July 1st, Pasqual was given his first Keytruda aka pembrolizumab and Chemotherapy treatment.

On July 22nd, he took his second Keytruda shot, however he was not able to get the Chemotherapy at the time because he had to remove a tooth, so therefore they postponed the Chemo until August.

On July 26th, Pasqual was admitted to the hospital due to not able to drink water or swallow any type of food. He said the food or water keeps regurgitating, so he went to the hospital. After couple days an n Ultrasound was given, but they did not see anything, so they gave him a CT Scan on July 30th which showed something lodge in his throat. The doctors told us he will need to see an outside Surgeon as the hospital is not equipped to perform such procedure. We contacted the surgeon and he said Pasqual has esophageal obstruction, but they will also need to explore to see if there is any tumor in the passage way. I asked to give an estimate and he said it maybe around $25000.00 EC.

On August, 22nd Pasqual Peters passed at 9:04 am.

Your prayers, donation, no matter the amount, are appreciated. Every contribution brings Pasqual closer to reclaiming his life. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign to help the family through this unimaginable crisis.

As a family, friend, or acquaintance, we ask that you join our family in supporting Pasqual in his healing journey. We are deeply grateful for every bit of support and love during this time. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for standing with our family. We are thankful for your prayers, generosity, and support.
