Aintree racecourse 10th may,
In December 2025, my nan became terminal ill and was diagnosed with a rare stomach cancer that was incurable with no available treatment. She was given a 12-week life expectancy, that she survived one day less of this. The cancer spread to her brain that affected her quality of life, This affected our family going forward, Early hours on Wednesday 25th February 2026, my nan peacefully and sadly passed away surrounded by her loved ones. From the day of her diagnosis to her last day, Marie Curie provided compassionate support and care not only to her, but to our whole family, helping us through moments we couldn’t have faced alone, My nan was given care from the comfort of her own home before moving to St Joseph’s hospice where she was looked after until her last moments.
Me and some others are going to be running in the aintree racecourse run to raise money for Marie Curie, We are fundraising to honour her memory and to give back so that other families can receive the same kindness, dignity, and support when they need it most. Any kind donation, big or small, means so much and we appreciate it. As a family, we couldn’t have done this alone.
Our life’s have changed since loosing our amazing nan and mum, but she will be with us going forward and her memories will stay with us forever.
Rest in eternal peace Nan, Mum
