Journey to Camp 2030 International Youth Summit

Hello! I'm fundraising to attend the Camp 2030 international youth summit in New York in September 2024!

I was selected as one of 200 attendees from over 2,000 global applicants. I'm excited to share my leadership and sustainability experience with young changemakers age 18-35 from all around the world. In 2012 I attended the Global Changemakers Youth Summit in England, where I made friends for life and felt reinvigorated to get out and change things for the better. I've also pursued youth leadership opportunities through The Otesha Project and Katimavik, among others. Since then, our world has seen a lot of division, polarization, and cynicism. I've not been immune to feeling despondent, and I strongly believe this summit will bring back my drive to make a difference in my local communities, and the world at large.

My workplace has made a commitment to cover some of the costs to attend, but I need to fundraise $3,000 by June 1, 2024 to secure my spot and cover my flight to and from New York City. I know this is a big ask in a very short timeframe, but I also know that my community has supported me in all sorts of non-financial ways throughout my life. I hope that you might feel moved to contribute towards this life-changing experience for me.
