On November 29th beautiful sweet Aimee crossed over. The family appreciates all of the continued love and support from the community. Any help that can be offered to help with final expenses would be greatly appreciated.
In November of 2021, our dear friend and soul sister was diagnosed with late stage Ovarian cancer. Those who know Aimee know her not only for her kind voice and infectious smile, but also for her courage and her ability to weather any storm with a sense of humor and a fierce love for life! Last Fall, After struggling with persistent discomfort that was repeatedly misdiagnosed as other varying things, the recurrent fatigue and pain became unbearable. She presented to the ER where she was later admitted. After a long week of testing, they found Ovarian cancer , stage 3c, with multiple tumor sites. From diagnosis, it was a whirlwind for Aimee and her family. From an immediate radical hysterectomy to terribly painful drains in her belly for the ascites…It all happened so fast. Too fast for this family of 6 to even process what it all meant and where to go from there.
Aimee ended up doing 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol Chemotherapy over the next 6 months, the standard frontline treatment for Ovarian Cancer, along with the participating in a phase 3 clinical trial. The chemo was rough, but she is a fighter! Fighting to live for her kids, for herself, for her tribe… She is fighting so hard and has so much love left to give, but the cancer is aggressive. The cancer has become resistant to the form of chemo she’s been taking. After the last scans showed growth and overall progression of disease, Aimee has decided to take a leap of faith and seek other treatments at a well known facility in Tijuana, Mexico called CHIPSA Hospital. Here they can offer several different meds on a daily basis to fight this thing from every angle. The time is now and Aimee is making preparation to head out on this journey next week!! But she needs our help to make it happen.
Aimee will be staying in-patient for three weeks, receiving treatments daily. We are all hopeful for the healing of her body, but this fight has taken a toll. Months of procedures and treatments have stressed this family of 6 in multiple ways. As a family that is so passionate in supporting their local community, this is a way we can all give back and show our love in return. Any support would be received with love and gratitude and updates will be posted so we can all follow together.
