As you may know, for years Aimee has been working on a series of children‘s mystery books titled Maime’s Tales. The stories chronicle the life of a mute girl from the time she loses her voice at the age of 4 through her more formative years. (I’ll save the elevator pitch for another time...)
These books are very much a modern version of the Goosebumps-type stories that many of us and our kids grew up reading.
Aim has decided to have the first installment professionally produced in podcast form and read by our favorite middle school teacher.
In my research for the perfect illustration to use as the podcast cover image, I fell down a rabbit hole and may have ended up with an incredible opportunity!
Tim Jacobus, the actual illustrator of all those awesome Goosebumps covers has agreed to take this on as a commissioned project and create a cover for Aimee’s first book in the series to finally bring Maime Caldwell to life!
It is in this spirit that I am reaching out to friends, family, and possibly a few kind souls who just appreciate literature or philanthropy.
I’m sure you are all thinking, “What in the world can I get this awesome person for her birthday? ...I mean, she already has hit life’s lottery being married to such an amazing man.” -or- perhaps, “That poor woman has to put up with so much from that dork husband, she deserves to be pampered with an amazing birthday surprise!” ...either way, we are raising money with a Go Fund Me account to give Aimee a birthday gift she’ll never forget.
Any amount donated will certainly be appreciated and welcome. However, every donation of $44 (since it’s impolite to say how old she is) will result in (1) entry into a drawing for a chance to win 1 of 6 specially designed, limited edition Maime’s Tales posters - autographed by the Artist and the Author!! (Even though she has no idea about this yet.)
We’ll draw the winners on Facebook Live once the final design is printed!!
Everyone who contributes will receive a link to Aimee’s Virtual Birthday Party at the end of March where we plan to introduce her to her new cover artist, Tim Jacobus!! ....and you get to see her reaction in real time!!
