Christ our Hope in life and death.

Our beloved mom, wife, grandma "Jam Jam" and friend has finished her earthly race. On Wednesday, May 7, she enjoyed the warm sunshine, played with some of her 23 grandkids, and went to take a rest after telling them she loved them. She lay down in her own bed, and woke in the presence of her Savior.

She was in the midst of a season filled with some of her favorite things: she has been spending time working in her garden, and celebrating and planning for the coming weddings of two of her boys. She has loved getting to know their wives-to-be, and was so delighted at how perfectly God timed their relationships and coming weddings. And she loved planning a party and having her favorite people together, and was eagerly awaiting us gathering for the weddings.

Mom genuinely loved people. She loved meeting a new person and finding a connection, or common friendship with that person. She was a good listener and loved to encourage people. She was also an imperfect sinner and was the first one to acknowledge that fact. I think that was why her genuine care for people she met, and the love she showed for them, so very clearly pointed to Christ. She was confident in Christ's love for her, and her care for people was an outflowing of that love.

We saw her grow in the Lord, especially in recent years, and we praise God for His work in her life! As her family, we are beneficiaries of her hard faught fight against the "sin which so easily entangles us" as she faught to run her race with endurance, "looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." (Heb. 12:2)

We are broken, shocked and grieving. This was completely unexpected. We were not ready for her to go ahead of us, and so many memories and experiences feel unfinished. She is leaving a gap in our lives, and the lives of many, many people across the country. We are shedding many tears... Not for her, but for ourselves as we miss the friend that she was to all of us. We mourn for the memories we will be making without her, yet we pray and hope we will make them well and with joy, as that is absolutely what she would have wanted.

Mom's very favorite thing was to be surrounded by family, "soaking in pheromones" as she would say. We hope to honor her and the Lord as we remember her and continue to treasure family time together.

We will share more details and service information soon, as we know many people will want to join us in remembering this special and beloved lady!

Thank you for your prayers for our family in this hard time. These funds will be put towards creating a memorial of Aimee Rohrer.
