Aimee and Steve need our help!
Donation protected
Aimee was diagnosed with FSGS, a rare disease that affected her kidney function in the beginning of 2018 and has been battling with adversity ever since.
In July of 2021, she had undergone a kidney transplant with a donation from her youngest sister, Elise, which has been so far successful. The new kidney is working fantastic and at this time, she no longer needs dialysis.
However, due to the underlying medical issue and the immunosuppressants she will be on for the remainder of her life, she has not been able to feel what us with good health would call "normal".
Aimee, being the fighter she is, had returned to work in December of 2021, but was only able to work part time and now has been out of work due to yet another setback.
This past May/June after several visits at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, she had received another unusual diagnosis- it is called the "JC Virus" -which can impact normal brain function and processes. Her immune system is still trying to fight off the virus- and with the help of several infusions has been successful and we keep seeing progress of the virus diminishing.
Unfortunately, due to the significant impact of all of this Aimee has not been working and her and her fiance, Steve, have been living on one Income.
Not only is it hard to live with one income in today's economy, Aimee has some unpaid medical bills for treatments not covered by her insurance. Also, there are additional lodging bills for the many visits she has had at The Mayo Clinic.
We are trying to raise money not only to help relieve some stress for the piling up bills, but to help with the everyday essential expenses to live.
Any amount is appreciated. Please feel free to share to pass along this cause.
Thank you for your kindness,
Aimee and family
