Aimee and Andy’s Cancer Fund

Andy and Aimee are two of the most precious people I know... which makes writing this not only painful but a gift. Andy was diagnosed with Stage IV small cell lung cancer in April of this year. We have created this Go Fund Me page as a way to help Aimee and Andy cover medical and living expenses for the foreseeable future. In May, after meeting with his team of oncologists, Andy chose the route of chemotherapy-two different medications administered over three days every three weeks. Since the start of his chemo Andy has grown weaker, and more unsteady- leaving him unable to work while fighting for his life. God has blessed them on so many ways over the last 6weeks, due to COVID-19, Aimee has been working from home and remains able to do so now. Working from home allows Aimee to care for Andy daily, continue to work full time, try maintain their home, and pay their bills. Any of you who know Aimee, know how much she loves her Andy, and how much she gives day in and day out to see that his every need is met. We know these are difficult days for all of us – financially, physically, and emotionally. It's always hard to ask for help, especially when so many of our friends and family members are in need right now, too. Thank you to all the people who have already been on this journey with us, and to those of you just learning about Andy’s cancer. Your support means more than we can ever express. Love, The Currie Family ------------- Below are the details of Andy’s cancer story and what we know so far: Andy struggled with stomach upset and pain for weeks before going to the doctor in April, when he finally made the appointment, blood work revealed a severe case of pancreatitis. Upon talking with his primary doctor, Andy and Aimee were told to head straight to the ER where he would be admitted. Aimee wasn’t allowed in due to COVID-19. Andy was admitted and they began running tests, only to find two large masses- one the size of a grapefruit on his pancreas. Upon further investigation these tumors were deemed malignant, and other tumors were discovered in the chest and abdomen, the lungs, and on the brain. Andy was officially diagnosed with Aggressive Stage IV Extensive Small Cell Lung Cancer. Devastated, Aimee and Andy met with the oncology team and decided to proceed with treatment in order to allow Andy more time with those he loves most. He completed round two of six and already it is hard to stay ahead of the bills pouring in. Day to day expenses, tests, Dr fees, consults, and the therapy it’s self are beginning to take a toll. Andy is struggling more and more to get out bed, eat, and do the things he loves most- spending time with his wife and their fur babies. They are strong in their faith in God and believe in God’s mighty hand of healing whether it be here or in heaven. As Aimee and Andy armor up spiritually for the fight of their lives we are asking for this community to rally around them in prayer and in anyway possible to ease the burdens they face. Their verse is Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
