Ailish's road trip to help Ukraine

Hello, my name is Ailish O'Reilly.

With a group of friends I am preparing for a trip to Ukraine with medical and humanitarian aid as part of the Trintiy Ukraine convoy. This will be our fourth trip to this organisation and their community to donate essential supplies.

We have sourced a Ford Ranger that we are calling GorteenyGirl, named after where it was bought. The funds we raise will pay for Gorteeny Girl to be roadworthy and ready to undertake the 3000 or so kilometre drive from Ireland to Ukraine. Ailish and Trish are co-drivers taking turns as we cross continental Europe and reach the Ukraine/Poland border.

Your donation will be used towards the costs of delivering Gorteeny Girl and all medical and hygiene contents to Ukraine by the end of October 2023.

On our last trip we brought 3 ambulances donated by Dublin Fire Brigade; 1 ambulance from Beacon Hospital; and the privately funded and sourced - 1 Sprinter; 2 Pathfinders; 1 Hilux; 5 Navarra’s. All jeeps were packed to the gills with walking aids; medical and hygiene supplies. We brought warm clothing; small generators to keep critical services for a nursing home or heat and light for the more vulnerable who are suffering with the power cuts in below zero conditions.

The vehicles and all their contents stay in Ukraine, a gift from our community to a local community there to help those in most need.
