Dear potential donor,
My name is Jake Laskin and I will be a senior this coming year at Sentinel High School. For the last six or seven years I have created a Haunted House in our garage anually for the entire neighborhood to enjoy. Every year the funds for building supplies, props and effects has come out of my pocket, and I was quite willing to do so. However after last years great success of having over 500 people on Halloween night alone, I want to make the Haunted Hallway something much bigger.
Of course, bigger not only in size but also in cause. I want to add an additional temporary building outside of our garage that would measure 16 feet by 16 feet and give us much more room to scare! The cost of building this temporary structure is approximately $500 and would really give a lot more room to work with. I feel it would be well worth the money. Now for bigger in terms of cause. There has never been an admission charge for the Haunted Hallway however this year I would like to change that slightly. This admission charge would be at least one can of food for the Missoula Food Bank and would be advised but not required. Obviously, not all trick-or-treaters carry canned food with them so it would have to be made public that this is the case.
In previous years I have had tremendous success with both the media (mainly news and newspaper) as well as using flyers and I intend to do so again this year to get the word out. I am also planning on doing this as my senior project so the more I can help the Missoula Food Bank the better!
I know many people will wonder where their donation will be going to and here is the answer:
$500-highlighted above to produce the new outbuilding for the Haunted Hallway
$1000-to buy props, costumes and decoration in order to fill the new space as well as improve the old
$250-to reimburse acters/scarers for all their hard work and help
$250-if the other $1750 is raised, the remaining money will all be donated to the Missoula Food Bank
This is a big project and this year I need your help to fund it! Also on the list of to-dos for this year is more showings which would also be made known to the public. The showings would be as follows:
October 24th, 2014 6:30p.m.-9:00p.m.
October 25th, 2014 6:30p.m.-9:00p.m.
October 30th, 2014 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m.
October 31st, 2014 5:30p.m.-midnight
I know I got wordy in this but please take the time to read it! I appreciate your time and every donation! If you have any questions please contact me!
Halloween is a long ways a way, however, the process of building the Haunted House begins in JULY!
