My name is Michele, and this is truly one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. I’ve always been the one who worked, who pushed through, who took care of everything and everybody. But these past two years have brought me to my knees in ways I never expected.

For the last two years, my life has been a cycle of kidney stones, infections, emergency rooms, and surgeries. More than 20 surgeries — each one stealing a little more of my strength, my hope, and the stability I used to give my family. Every time I healed from one procedure, another infection would hit. I never got a chance to fully recover before being thrown back into the hospital again.

The hardest part is that these medical battles have taken away my ability to work. I haven’t been able to work for two years, something that has weighed heavily on me every single day. I want so badly to provide for my family the way I used to, but my body simply hasn’t let me.

We have tried to hold on. We’ve stretched every dollar, fallen behind, caught up, fallen behind again. But between the medical bills, medications, transportation to nonstop appointments, and just trying to keep a roof over our heads, we’ve reached a point where we simply cannot do it alone anymore.

This GoFundMe means:

• A chance to cover basic bills while I continue treatment

• A chance to breathe without constant fear of what bill is coming next

• A chance for my family to feel stable again after two years of chaos and uncertainty

I am exhausted — physically, emotionally, and financially — but I’m not giving up. I want to get better. I want to return to the person I was before all of this. I want my family to feel safe again, not like everything could fall apart at any moment.
