Aiding J.R.'s Cancer Battle: Family in Need
Donation protected
My name is William, my friends and family know me as J.R., and about 3 weeks ago, I went into the local emergency room for an esophageal blockage. I figured it would end up being a run-of-the-mill stricture from inflammation, etc., and with some meds, I'd be good as new in no time. Fast forward a couple of days, and at 41 years old, I'm told I have stage T3 adenocarcinoma (esophageal cancer).
I'm the sole provider for me, my wife, and my 6-year-old stepdaughter. I'm still working full-time, I have depleted any accumulated PTO I had for doctor visits and hospital stays. I do not have insurance yet, and even with a 90% discount for being self-pay, my medical bills have already hit $14k, and will only soar higher as I begin chemotherapy in a few weeks. I'm making small payments towards them as I'm able to, but we are a family that was already living paycheck to paycheck as it was.
Asking for help is not something that comes easy to me, but at this point, my family is more important than my pride. If you're not able to help financially, just sharing my post will be a tremendous help and will be greatly appreciated. God bless you to any and all who help in any way they are able to. Thank you in advance for any help you are able to offer. Me and my family will be eternally grateful.
