Voltaire's Sanctuary is a special place like none others.

It is a place entirely dedicated to animals and closed to the public.

This place today is meant for three types of animals:

Otherwise, it’s the nursing home for some and the sanctuary far away from humans for the others.

Almost all of the work at this sanctuary is done by volunteers, all "home made": tiling the entire sanctuary to prevent dirt and maintain good hygiene, building a giant aviary to allow the cats to stretch their paws safely, etc. BUT, when it comes to major work like roof repairs, we really have no other option than to call in professionals.

We met with several roofing companies and chose the one that offered the best quality/price ratio.

Today, we must therefore finance the roofing work on the cat house, based on a quote of €44,000.

We are applying for a loan from our bank, but a minimum of €10,000 is required to qualify.

Today, the roof is no longer just a repair; it is an emergency. If we cannot secure it now, we will be forced to evacuate every single cat and send them back to Paris. For many of them, that would not just be a relocation, it could be a death sentence. These are non-adoptable cats. Fragile. Traumatized. Sensitive to stress. A sudden displacement could trigger illness, severe anxiety, or worse.

Here, they have built a life. They have formed bonds, territories, routines. They have created their own peaceful ecosystem, far from the noise and danger of the city. They are stable. They are safe. They are happy.

If the roof fails, everything we have built over the years -- the trust, the balance, the sanctuary itself -- collapses with it.

We urgently need your help to secure the roof now, before safety turns into a crisis.
