Nous sommes l’ASBL Zarafa et, depuis plus de 10 ans, nous œuvrons pour l'inclusion des enfants et des personnes en situation de handicap.

En 2018, nous avons lancé une crèche inclusive où des enfants porteurs de handicap et des enfants sans handicap grandissent ensemble. Ce projet a été une source d’enrichissement incroyable. Face à la demande croissante, nous avons décidé d’ouvrir une deuxième crèche, conçue pour favoriser davantage l’inclusion.

Malheureusement, nous avons rencontré des imprévus : un architecte qui nous a fait perdre 60 000 €, un entrepreneur qui nous a laissés avec un chantier à moitié terminé, et nous avons dû pallier cette lourde perte en accumulant d’énormes frais, notamment en repayant un nouvel entrepreneur et un nouvel architecte. Bien que la justice ait tranché en notre faveur concernant les entreprises qui ont déposé le bilan, nous n'avons pas pu récupérer les montants perdus étant donné l’état de faillite de ces entreprises.

Aujourd'hui, nous risquons de voir cette deuxième crèche fermer avant même son ouverture prévue en juin 2026. De plus, notre première crèche est également menacée de fermeture. Cela signifierait qu’une quarantaine d’enfants perdraient leur place et la possibilité d’être enfin accueillis dans une structure adaptée à leur handicap. Nous tentons donc de récupérer une partie des montants perdus pour sauver ce projet précieux.

We are Zarafa, a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to promoting inclusion for children and individuals with disabilities for over 10 years.

In 2018, we opened an inclusive daycare where children with and without disabilities grow and learn side by side. It has been an incredibly enriching experience for everyone involved. As demand grew, we set out to open a second daycare, designed to go even further in fostering inclusion.

However, the journey has not been without setbacks. We faced serious challenges, including the loss of €60,000 due to an architect, and a contractor who abandoned the project halfway through. This forced us to take on substantial additional costs to keep the project alive, including bringing in a new team. Although the courts ruled in our favor, we were unable to recover the lost funds due to the companies’ bankruptcy.

Today, we are at a critical turning point. Our second daycare is at risk of closing before it can even open in June 2026, and our first daycare is now also under threat. If this happens, around forty children will lose not only their place, but also access to a supportive and inclusive environment tailored to their needs. We are doing everything we can to recover part of these losses and save this vital project. If inclusion matters to you, we would love for you to be part of this journey.
