Aidez moi à sauver Pixelle

Je suis Martine.

Ceux qui me connaissent savent que je n'ai pas d'enfants, mais mes deux chihuahuas teckels sont mes bébés ! Il y a 3 semaines, l'état de Pixelle (8 ans) commençait à m'inquiéter à cause de vomissements inhabituels et d'une perte d'énergie. Suite à un bilan sanguin et un test urinaire, tout indiquait une infection aux reins, donc je suis revenue chez moi avec 4 semaines d'antibiotiques.

Au début de la 3ᵉ semaine d'antibiotiques, mardi dernier, son état s'est détérioré, et une visite aux urgences s'en est suivie. Suite à cette deuxième visite, trois autres médicaments ont été prescrits.

Deux jours plus tard, son état s'empirait de plus en plus : léthargie, salivation, perte totale d'appétit. Je suis donc retournée en urgence. Pixelle a été hospitalisée pendant 36 heures. Elle a eu une échographie abdominale qui, malheureusement, est en faveur d'un cancer au niveau de l'intestin proximal avec ulcération profonde. Suite à ce diagnostic, la seule option qui pourrait mener à sa guérison est une intervention chirurgicale dans une zone difficile à opérer, pour un coût de 5000 à 6000 $ minimum. Ayant déjà emprunté 4500 $ pour les trois visites chez le vétérinaire, les tests, la médication et l'échographie, je suis au bout de mes ressources. Je suis donc rendue au point où je dois demander de l'aide pour espérer lui donner une chance de survie.

Pour le moment, puisque l'opération n'est pas possible, je retourne à la maison avec un traitement de soutien digestif et une antibiothérapie. Elle doit prendre entre 8 et 10 doses de médicaments quotidiennement pour les 4 prochaines semaines afin de la soulager. Cependant, selon les spécialistes en médecine interne, une guérison complète est improbable sans intervention chirurgicale.

Those who know me are aware that I don’t have children, but my two Chihuahua-Dachshund mixes are my babies! Three weeks ago, Pixelle (8 years old) started worrying me due to unusual vomiting and a loss of energy. After a blood test and a urinalysis, everything pointed to a kidney infection, so I returned home with a prescription for 4 weeks of antibiotics.

At the beginning of the third week of antibiotics, last Tuesday, her condition deteriorated, leading to an emergency visit. After this second visit, three additional medications were prescribed.

Two days later, her condition worsened further: lethargy, excessive drooling, and a total loss of appetite. I rushed her back to the emergency clinic. Pixelle was hospitalized for 36 hours. She underwent an abdominal ultrasound that, unfortunately, revealed a likely cancer in the proximal intestine with severe ulceration. Following this diagnosis, the only option for her potential recovery is a surgical procedure in a challenging area, costing between $5,000 and $6,000 at minimum. Having already borrowed $4,500 for the three vet visits, tests, medication, and ultrasound, I have reached the limit of my resources. I am now at a point where I must ask for help to give her a chance at survival.

For now, since surgery is not possible, I’m bringing her home with digestive support treatment and antibiotics. She needs to take between 8 to 10 doses of medication daily for the next 4 weeks to help alleviate her symptoms. However, according to internal medicine specialists, a complete recovery is unlikely without surgery.
