Two Years of War, One Lost Dream, and a Fight for Survival
My name is Mazen, and I’m from Gaza. For the past two years, my family and I have lived through one of the most devastating wars of our lifetime. We lost our home, our safety, and every sense of stability. Like many others here, I held on to one dream: to leave this nightmare behind and find a future through education or work abroad.
I worked hard to raise the funds I needed to travel. I saved every dollar that kind people donated with hope in my heart. But the siege tightened. The borders closed. The dream died. And the war didn’t stop.
Everything I had saved went into survival — food, water, shelter. Not luxury. Just basic human needs. Day by day, we’ve watched our bodies weaken. Hunger has become a constant companion. For the last three days, I haven’t been able to get a single piece of bread. For the past four months, there are days we eat… and days we don’t.
The famine is real. Our bodies are wasting away. Death visits us daily — not through bombs, but through hunger, thirst, and hopelessness.
I am not asking for much. I am not asking to live in comfort. I am asking for help to stay alive.
Every dollar you donate goes directly to food and clean water for me and my family. Just to survive. Just to see another day.
Please, if you’ve read this far — stand with us. Your support is more than charity. It’s a lifeline.
With gratitude,
Mazen"
