My name is Shadi. I’m a 37-year-old husband and father of two — a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. We are from Shuja’iyya in Gaza.

Before the war, I lived a peaceful and simple life with my family. But everything changed when the war began. My home and car — the only source of income for my family — were destroyed. We were forced to flee in search of safety.

In November 2023, my wife and children were displaced to Rafah in southern Gaza, while I stayed in the north to care for my elderly mother, who is very sick and requires constant medical attention. Since then, I have been separated from my family. It has now been over a year and a half since I last saw my wife and children.

We are living under constant threat — moving from one shelter to another, from one tent to the next. We are surrounded by fear, hunger, and hardship. We lack clean drinking water, food, electricity, and access to medicine. Trash is piling up everywhere, increasing the risk of disease. Many of our loved ones have been lost. Many of our homes are gone.

We are doing everything we can to survive, but we are exhausted and desperate. I am suffering from stomach problems due to contaminated food and water. My mother suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes and urgently needs medication.

We are not people who are used to asking for help — we are a proud and resilient people — but now we have no other choice. We are asking for your support so that we can buy food, clean water, and medicine for ourselves and our families.
