Aiden’s Journey: Fighting with Courage Every Step of the Way

Our sweet Aiden has been through more in the past few months than most people face in a lifetime. Earlier this year, he received a one-time gene therapy infusion to slow the progression of his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) — a treatment full of hope but also known risks. Unfortunately, Aiden developed a severe liver injury shortly after the infusion and was hospitalized for intensive treatment with IV steroids. For a while, things were improving, and we were so hopeful.

Then in mid-September, everything changed. Aiden suddenly became very sick with severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found life-threatening blood clots in his portal and mesenteric veins, which cut off blood flow to part of his small intestine. This led to dead bowel tissue, requiring multiple emergency surgeries — including bowel resections, washouts, and reconnections over several days.

Since then, Aiden has faced an unbelievably tough recovery in the ICU. He’s been on a ventilator, endured numerous blood transfusions, and continues to battle the effects of the clots, infections, and fluid buildup around his organs. His medical team is closely monitoring his liver, kidneys, and intestines while adjusting treatments daily to keep him stable.

Despite the tubes, machines, and constant tests, Aiden has shown incredible bravery. He’s passed his breathing trials, started gentle tube feedings (which his family lovingly calls his “milkshake”), and continues to fight with quiet courage. Every small step — every breath, every stable lab result — is a victory.

Aiden’s journey is far from over, and his family has been by his side through every sleepless night, surgery, and moment of fear. The emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming, with ongoing hospital stays, travel, time away from work, and long-term medical needs.

We’re asking for your prayers, love, and support as Aiden continues this fight for healing. Every donation, message, and share makes a difference. Together, we can help lift this family up through an unimaginable time and remind them they’re not alone.

Please continue to keep Aiden and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
