Hi, my name is Rachel. I am creating this go fund me for my little brother, Aiden. As most of my friends, family, and acquaintances know, Aiden is profoundly deaf in both ears and has been since the day he was born. We were given the opportunity, so many years ago, that allowed Aiden to receive cochlear implants surgery, fully covered by insurance.

A lot has changed in the 15 years he has had his cochlear implants. Of the two, one of his cochlear processors is considered completely obsolete by the cochlear company, so, there is no repairing it, no replacement parts, etc. The other will be considered obsolete this coming year. Aiden's oldest processor stopped working a year ago. He has made the best of the situation since, because he still had one working processor. Until last night. He is now completely without hearing/sound. At this time, we don't have insurance. That will be changing in the near future, and we have been hoping his processor would hold out until then. But, it didn't. He has worked tirelessly in the past 15 years to hear, speak, and become completely mainstream in school.

The self-pay price for the upgrade is approximately $9,775. That is only for one side. Together, it would be closer to $20,000, but right now we are in need of just one to start with.

He is truly one of most amazing and one of the smartest people I have ever met. My heart is truly broken for him right now. Our family hates asking for help and we wish we didn’t have to, but we, more than anything, just want Aiden to be able to participate in school and everyday activities that he enjoys so much. Anything helps and we appreciate any donations we get.
