Help me represent Canada at the Olympic Hopes Kayak Regatta in Poland!
As one of Canada's best U17 sprint kayakers, I'm honoured to have been selected to join the team to paddle for my country at my very first international regatta this September. I've been racing kayaks with the Burloak Canoe Club in Oakville since I was nine years old, watching champions like Adam van Koeverden and Mark Oldershaw win Olympic medals. It's my dream to follow their example. It's so exciting to see my training and hard work begin to pay off.
I've started this campaign because I need to find funding to cover the costs for my training, travel and participation here in Canada and in Bydgoszcz, Poland. I'm a high school student and working as a summer coach at the canoe club, but I'm on the water training most of the time. My friend and fellow team member, Christian, and I are busy raising funds, including baking and selling our own cookies and squares to hungry athletes. My parents are willing to help, too. But it won't be enough.
Would you consider supporting me? It would be so encouraging and I'd be so grateful. And you'll help me fuel my own Olympic Hopes.
Your support will help me cover the necessary costs for:
- travel to Bydgoszcz, Poland, site of the 2015 Olympic Hopes Regatta (I'll be there September 20-29)
- travel to training camps in Canada this summer (including for the Canada Cup and the Pan Am TAP camps)
- registration, fees and related expenses to participate in the Olympic Hopes and Canada Cup regattas
