Aidan Kelly's Eagle Project
My name is Aidan Kelly and I am currently a Life Scout in troop 464. For my Eagle Scout Project I have decided to give back to a community that has done so much for me, St. Mels. St. Mels is both a church and school in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles and has been part of the fabric of my life for as long as I can remember.
For my Eagle Project I have decided to restore and enhance the Mother Mary Grotto at the church and make it as beautiful and inviting as possible for both parishioners and the community at large.
Enhancements to the current Grotto include plastering and painting the surrounding walls, as well as placing a new arch over the statue of Mary with climbing roses. I will be replacing the dead hedging behind the Grotto and adding more lighting to improve safety at night. Lastly, I’ll be improving the hardscaping and landscaping in the area of the Grotto.
My fundraising goal for this project is $3,000, but I am extremely grateful for any donation you can give, whether it is big or small. Every contribution helps.
