Meet Zucchini, my sweet 3-year-old kitty and best friend.
I adopted Zucchini from a family friend when he was just a kitten, and he’s been by my side ever since. He’s been with me through major life changes, including two big moves—one of them across state lines. Through it all, he’s been my constant source of comfort, joy, and unconditional love.
Just a week ago, around April 15th, Zucchini started showing signs of illness. At first, it seemed like a minor cold, but things quickly took a turn. He stopped eating, began drooling and vomiting bile, and withdrew from everyone around him. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where we received devastating news—Zucchini was in acute kidney failure.
The cause is still unknown. The vets believe it may be due to an unfortunate genetic issue. Thankfully, Zucchini was admitted and has been receiving aggressive treatment, including fluids and medications. He’s starting to show signs of improvement, but he still needs a few more days of hospitalization to fully stabilize and recover.
So far, just one day of emergency care has cost $2,100. Each additional day adds up quickly, but I’m doing everything I can to make sure Zucchini gets the care he needs. We’re taking it one day at a time, and every bit of help truly makes a difference.
If you’re an animal lover or have ever known the deep bond between a pet and their person, I ask from the bottom of my heart—please consider helping us through this difficult time. Zucchini means the world to me, and I just want to bring him home healthy and safe.
All funds will go toward treatment or paying off treatment!
